It pains me to write this, as I must question the wisdom of one of the guiding forces in my life, someone who helped shape my value system from a young age:
Yoda lied to me.
The Jedi master implored us all to just use The Force, and it turns out that it’s a lousy business strategy! I’ve tried to apply it to my startup podcast/webinar coaching business these past few months. Yet, no matter how many times I telepathically announce, “This is the guidance you’re looking for,” it does not seem to force a reaction. Why have you led me astray, Master Yoda? This is not The Force, it’s The Farce!
Then I hear Master Yoda calmly saying, “Patience, young Skywalker.”
I impetuously jumped too far ahead in my story. I saw myself making that decisive run to blast the Death Star to smithereens. I was ready to turn off my guidance computer and let The Force direct my approach to the marketplace.
In truth, I was standing on the deck of the Millenium Falcon, a training helmet rendering me blind, as I flailed with my light saber at the small orb encircling my head.
So, I traveled to my own personal Dagobah, reaching out to several Yodas in my life for their guidance on mastering The Force that is entrepreneurship. I was on the right track; I was just not using my light saber with the required precision.
But I am now. We’re going back out to the marketplace with renewed vigor and laser (or is that light saber) focus. No more randomly shooting like a stormtrooper. We’re narrowing this down to what I want to do most: Help you make your podcasts and webinars more compelling by training your hosts and guests to maximize their potential.
On my end, that means an updated website, more thought leadership on my blog and LinkedIn, and the rollout of TalkSmith Radio, my new stable of podcasts.
For you, it means a chance to rise above the growing imperial armada of programs by determining the right format for your message, training your experts to be memorable guests, and giving your hosts the skills to attract and retain an audience, no matter who the guest is or what topic is being discussed.
It really boils down to Master Yoda’s maxim: Do or not do; there is no try. So, let me help you make your podcasts and webinars a driving force for your business or organization.
